Philosophy

artclassonpolaroid.jpg

I believe my sense of creativity sets me apart from other musicians and artists. I regularly create original and commissioned art pieces and play cello with my University.

I see beauty in the mundane, and use this philosophy to inspire the art I make and the way I play the cello. My current ongoing collage series uses found paper items like tickets, receipts, cut-outs, flyers, and more to make monthly visual journal entries. I compose almost literal pieces of trash in a way that brings them back to life. It allows the viewer to see the world through another human’s eyes.

When it comes to cello, my attitude doesn’t change much. I like to keep the phrasing some-what simple so I don’t “over-do” it. I feel like I can still make a passage interesting to listen to even if I don’t employ copious and constant vibrato, for example.
